This month their writing prompt is: "I was home alone on Halloween night, My parents said I was too old to go trick-or-treating, so they stuck me with handing out the candy. It was getting dark and I hadn't had anybody come to the door for at least fifteen minutes, so I thought it was time to turn off the lights and head upstairs to my room. Boy, was I wrong! Just as I opened the door to my room, i heard the strangest noise. It sounded like...."
They can either continue this story or write about being left home alone on Halloween night. This is a fictional narrative.
This assignment is due October 30, 2014. It needs to be at least 4 paragraphs, 5-7 sentences per paragraph. Students need to write a rough draft on the paper I provided. Then a parent, older sibling or other relative needs to proof read their rough draft before they type it. It needs to be typed in 12 point font size. Double spaced is preferred but not required.
